5 weeks on then 2 weeks off? Good luck with that!

No they don’t have a set time off policy but it has to be reasonable too, if drivers abuse it they will probably create a time off policy.

Im thinking more like 3-4 weeks out and 5-7 days off, at least that seemed to be the norm for NCMickey

Ok, so there is a line in the sand then. And their hometime is just like most other OTR companies, work 4 weeks get 5-7 days off.

That's why I asked. Saying they don't have a home time policy but then saying drivers are "abusing" it with a 5 week on 2 week off schedule is contradictory. Their hometime policy is like basically every other OTR company then.

Not sure why a 5 week on 2 week off would be considered "abuse" either. Don't the oil fields run 2 weeks on 2 weeks off? Or 2 weeks on 1 week off? Something like that?

First of all, I don’t work there yet so don’t go by me but I have a pretty good feel for this company and that’s why I applied today.

Second, I’ve researched every company I can think of and not many give more then 1.5 days per week off, as a matter of fact, to my surprise after 27 yrs, a lot still have a 1 day per week out policy.

Oilfield? Dude, get real, oilfield is a beast of its own and they work their ### off. This is OTR trucking, not oilfield

Ive been researching oilfield too, seems to me the best you can hope for is 21 days straight working a minimum of 12 hours a day, then you get a week off. Most companies out their have drivers work 14-18 hours a day and some have you on call.
That’s how those guys make so much money, it’s from all the overtime they work.

Ok, I understand, but it's false advertising to say "no hometime policy". No, this company's hometime policy is basically the same as everyone else's if your hunch about it is right - 5-7 days off for 4 weeks out.

Also, good to know about the oilfield. Maybe it's another sector of the oil field that does 2 weeks on 1 week off. Could've sworn I read that somewhere about how that schedule was pretty normal.

Also, it wouldn't be a bad thing to have 5 weeks on 2 weeks off. Just because it isn't the norm now doesn't mean it can't be changed to it in the future.

It didn't hurt to ask, in a thread where people are touting a "no hometime policy". Right?

I would probably have to do temp service work for that type of schedule maybe. Chinatown has mentioned it before. Just exploring my options in this industry, that's all.

Hell no it never hurts to ask anything!
Just call Tony and see what he says

But again, I’ve done nothing but research these last few MONTHS! ... Most companies don’t give you a week off after 4 weeks, that’s almost 2 days per week out, so please stop with the industry norm, no it’s not!

Please list the companies that allow a full 7 days after 4 weeks, I’m anxious to know who I missed?

@GhentSaintPeters ..... if your so interested in an exact answer, call Tony and ask. Everyone told you what they did. In my experience, there wasn’t a written rule on what hometime was except if you stayed out 2 weeks and lived in curtain locals, take off 2-3 days... stay out 3 weeks and take off what you want ‘within reason’ I would work 3-4 weeks and take off 5-7 days... 10+ days around Xmas and New Years. My usual pattern was 3 weeks out, 6 days off but it fluctuated with whatever circumstances was happening....
That is much better than the ‘usual’ policy with most companies...

call and ask for yourself and post the answer! J F C

You're asking questions we can't answer. Ask management.

When I said I took three weeks off, that was for a vacation, not my regular schedule.

Most of us here are runners. Two weeks off every five weeks we'd go nuts from boredom.

Hint, Hint, everything is negotiable. Sounds like it would work to me. Just stipulate this on being hired.
