Driving With Feet On The Dash?

Thankyou, I am glad your not practicing bad habits. Yes, I too have seen idiots out there that I am hoping their company installed a camera and saw how bad they were driving. There was a driver from Stevens I saw that was driving with his feet up. Head leaning back in the corner of the cab. Yacking away on the phone. Talk about distracted.

 

Yes, it's what 4-wheeler drivers do inside of an 1818-wheeler. They bring all of their bad habits with them and adopt more bad habits.

 

It's a lack of respect for the job they do, themselves, the equipment they operate, everyone around them, and their new country.

Eventually, America will become a third world nation.

 

Gee I think this fancy little device prevents this stupid type of activity.

1. Shifting forces driver to use their entire body. I do not need the temptation of a free hand to eat or mess with a phone.
2. Running through gears gives me something to do. My mind is less likely to wander I have to think about what gear I'm in and what gear I'm going to have to shift to.
3. I've heard auto shifts are less reliable then manuals.
4. This tool eliminates some of those who should not be driving a CMV to begin with.
5. Actually wanting an auto is kind of for lazy people. Apparently now they can just kick back and let the truck do everything. What a joke.

I will drive truck 84 until I NO longer work at Walton milk hauling. Truck has 88k on it and hopefully no one else plows into it because it's still a fairly new and very low mileage truck

 

It's because of these morons that we have driver facing cameras to begin with.

WOW just WOW. I though being CDL holders we are supposed to be better then this type of stupidity

 

When I started my brief stint with Werner my trainer would drive with ear buds in. I didn't think it was too smart..... And I could have learned this bad habit

 

I've seen it and can't condone it.
Never in 45 years of truck driving have I done it.
Don't know how you could respond to a emergency situation like that.
Same people that hammer down in less than desirable conditions.
Natural selection usually takes care of these types over time.
