If you have an apu for heating and cooling, you are allowed 200 extra on gross.

Reminds me of a lesson that was hard learned many years ago in Quad Cities. I was a young guy sometime in the early 80s heavy on the accelerator and heavy on the brakes. I had a load of wrecking bars that were palletize but they were not tied down to the pallets. By the time I cross the scale in Quad Cities I was almost 3,000 lb over on my drives. I slept the wheels all the way up. I was still well over so the only solution was to walk to the front of the trailer and start carrying wrecking bars to the back of the trailer until I was legal. My grandfather told me something when I first started driving. Drunk driving is a thinking job. When you quit thinking that's when you're going to get into trouble

Depending on what and how much weight, Yes forward or reverse. I'm pulling mainly dryvans sometimes reefers . 240 pounds is an easy one.

If it's pallets, they're usually secured by straps or plastic wrap.

Hey fellas, thanks for the replies. I made it to my final destination with no issues. Though, all the scales I passed by were closed down when I passed them.

So, who knows what would've happened if they'de been open. I suppose I would've been all right, based on the responses here.

I hope I never get loaded like that again
Though. Being legal is much more preferable.

In Florida you better have a certified paper stating the weight of your APU from the manufacturer
