Looks like NY State Troopers. They do that in work zones.

Would like to ask you people...
Have talked to a recruiter. Crete offering a Wallyworld dedicated out of North Platte Nebraska. They say they can give me a 34, once a week at home. Home is Rapid City SD. Pay is $1250 a week. Say can do better if I don't hold them to the once a week 34 at home. Talking $77 to $80k yr. ???
We really aren't the trucking opportunity capital of the country. If you get what I mean. Not alot of opportunities period. Opportunities to get home alot either.

I do have some PSP points. Taken in context, it isn't bad. I was in bad situations with companies. Recruiter indicated shouldn't be a problem.

I do have a Regional job now. Hauling concrete powder in pneumatic trailer. Working for an O/O with 3 trucks. I like it. Home about every day. But during winter. Loads drop off. Just skimp making it by. Old truck with working on it often. So down time on that too. But I do really like it. ... Then during summer will run like crazy. ... Thought I'd add... O/O is willing to loan me money till summer if winter is too bad financially. So not looking at disaster.

I do admit. I need to spend more time out of the truck. That's health wise. Money doesn't matter that much.
Home time doesn't matter that much to me. I used to run three months out. Then one week home time. But admit. I'm really liking this high amount of home time. Being home everyday.

Are they still doing the mandatory Sleep Apnea testing and after you fail it they sell you one of their cpap machines?

I’m still forced to use a cpap because Crete’s fukacta doctor declared everyone with a 17 inch neck at risk of sleep apnea. Everyone who took the test was claimed to have had it and had to buy a machine.

They sold me the CPAP for $1,100 then I found the same machine online for $600.

Such a complete scam. The only way out is to pony up $4,500 to pay for a sleep study of your own.

Crete is a good company to work for, and I have heard the Wal Mart dedicated drivers can make good money, but if you are happy at the job you are at, then that's a hard call.

Has your boss looked at plow or snow disposal work for the winter months? Even if it isn't a lot of work, it would be a bit extra for everyone if some of your company equipment can do the job.

If you are significantly overweight, then count on it. Otherwise, I do not think they are aggressive about testing.

I’ve been unofficially on the NP fleet for the last few years... meaning I volunteer to go back every time I come off of home time. The miles are good and they WILL keep you busy. They’re always looking for drivers and pull folks like myself out of OTR to make sure all their freight gets covered. If you live in Rapid City they can definitely get you home as we run 5-6 trips a day to Rapid City and Spearfish. Not a bad gig to have especially if you live local. 77k per year is probably a bit optimistic as starting pay... I think I was around 75k roughly but I’m 7 years in at Crete. 70k is probably more accurate if you start with experience. Hope this helps.

I went ahead and applied. Called me today. Wanting to know when I would be available for orientation. Going ahead with background check. So far Crete seems very understanding and uses comprehension. She said of course after you arrange with time for present employer. Take care of things.
I was extremely hesitant. I'm feeling better about this all the time. Thank you all for posting.

I am wondering. Looky looed at Crete site. Same job out of Cheyenne to Denver.
Advertising higher pay? Is it just updated? Mine not?
Also they are advertising those guys being home every day. Can understand how they can do it. They sure want drivers into Denver, out of Cheyenne.
