I run that lane extensively. Knock dealers doors. Network with other Transporters.

call one of the big companies and request a carrier packet. fill out packet and call dispatch and start hauling.

it is up to you to be observant. I cant do it for you. if you go park by the port in your area or maybe a railyard you will see one the big companies driving by with a load of cars. call that company and tell them you want to be a sub hauler. go from there brother

How much did it cost to start up everything for mc numbers and insurance? I’m in north jersey too , just got my cdl over the summer . But I have points so I can’t get hired locally and don’t want to do over the road unless I’m doing it for my own company

Well my Original quote was through the roof for brand new Authority, but after shopping around I found something I thought to be reasonable. 16,500 premium for the year. I only have intrastate authority so no MC#. Just DOT#. I run a Ram dually with 4 car in Florida. But the problem is keeping the wheels turning. Definitely listen to the guys who have been in this business for a while and have some things set up before you jump into it. Homework, Homework, Homework.
