Funny thing is after this thread I saw a load that made me remember this thread.

A day cab with a step deck with 2 day cab’s on it and went hey this could be the guy but then remembered it was a flat bed with pick ups. Thought I share.

I kind of agree with this, and $50-$100 would be fair enough. $500 is a little excessive for the extra work, but at the end of the day it is your load to price and wasn’t included in the original rate.

We load out and ship about as many loads as we haul ourselves. Lots of times, I’ll give the broker a rough list of what we will be loading, but make it clear that we want the whole truck and the list could change. More times than not, the broker won’t relay all this info to the driver, and the driver gets a little upset when you put other items on to fill the load. I’ll have to call the broker and they will have to deal with the driver.

We are one of the easiest outfits to deal with anyway. I’ll at least have one of my guys help the driver throw chains and tarp if needed.

OH MY GOSH !!!!! I have just last week had issues with WG Freight Logistics, our first load with them, it is with the payment an the dispatcher Theo threating me on the phone an his yelling the same with I will make sure you do not do more loads with us or other brokers. HOLY CRAP WHAT OWNER/OPERATORS PUT UPWITH TODAY!!!! THE DISRESPECT !!! I would nor have ever shouted in my 40 years as owner/operator an now I dispatch/ an do all the paperwork for owner/operators.
I have all the emails with signed paperwork. I turned them into Truck Stop load board as this is SSSOO NOT RIGHT!!! I did all I was ask to do an the freight was delivered SAFE an EARLY.
THIS RUDENESS AN NOT PAYING IN THE TIME FRAME AGRRED TOO IS HORRIBLE !! I try not to use brokers I do not know this is a FIRST for us an it was not good. I feel it sad when we have to be fearful of not bein paid an abused verbally or ask to do more than agreed upon. owner/operators DO NOT WORK FOR FREE there are many expenses. I a, 72 an I wonder where common decency has gone an politeness an courtesy mercy :)))
I pray you got paid an we do also

I did a load for WG in March this year. I was working with Theo and I want to mention that he was great with me. I had an issue with my front drive and it happened to sideline me for 5 days. I offered to Theo that I could rent a tractor to finish the load. He told me not to worry about it just yet, if it gets toward the end of next week maybe we consider it. That helped me out tremendously as on top of the rental cost I would have to amend all the OD permits, add flags banners and beacons to the rental, transfer insurance and some how move into that rental with my dog, all our food and what not. Not to mention the cost of the repair to boot (limped it in to Rush Truck Centers Amarillo).

    Got Paid on time too.
