My way into the smokies is shut down due to downed trees from high wind...

Bummer. Guess I should’ve hiked my mountain back home? Will check the road report tomorrow and try again, if not, I know what I’ll be doing!...

Putting some fuel in the Taco and heading home

What I'm in now is small. If push come to shove I could sleep in it just wouldnt want to. I'd have slept in it last night if it had a mattress in it. 20191101_142548.jpg 20191101_142708.jpg

@Lysdexis At least that thing's got head room in the cab and sleeper and the transition is open. I couldn't imagine what it would be like with a small hole 359 and a coffin.

Being almost 7 foot I cant fit in a small hole. Unibilt, the kw studio with the straight through to the sleeper, 579s have a massive hole. If it's not an almost straight through to the sleeper I cant fit.

If I'm spending the money then I'll get what I like and what's comfortable for me. And yeah there has always been tall truckers. They also didnt always have the option for more comfort. You can bet your ### they would've taken more comfort if it was available.

Are you a big guy or average height?

In a flat top my feet are flat on the floor, seat high enough I can operate the clutch, cant lay back the seat because its touching the back of the cab so its straight up, head rubs the ceiling.

I've driven small trucks. I don't have to nor will I ever again, especially if I'm footing the bill for it.

Definitely not arguing the cool factor one bit. It's just not comfortable for me. Plenty of gorgeous mid roofs out there too.
