Typically when Google tells you to get off it's because of a traffic problem, However if you don't know the area better to stay on the big road.
I have a habit of running alot of streets to get around traffic when running local like I do now, but I don't recomend this over all.

    Looking at the playstore.

It would appear things have changed.

    The truck app is retired.

There's a different copilot app that says cars, trucks, and rvs.

Doesn't look like copilot is still In business.

    Garmin dezl.

    Hands-down winner.

Then install the Smartphone link on your phone, bluetooth it to the GPS and you get traffic data

So, in reality CoPilot is more popular than ever actually in terms of Android and iOS (and to a lesser extent for Windows.) They consolidated all of the mobile versions into one app and that is apparently confusing people. It shows in the app stores now just as "CoPilot GPS Navigation." Once installed, the user decides what kind of routing they need and buy that subscription in the app (for example: car only, car and RV, trucks, etc.)

    For Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alk.copilot.mapviewer
    For Apple: ‎CoPilot GPS Navigation
For Windows: CoPilot Truck and RV for Windows

(source / disclosure: I am a CoPilot business partner)

I was looking at the name change.

    TRIMBLE MAPS UK
Didn't it used to be ALK Technologies? Or something like that.

Trimble has been buying up companies. (like ALK Technologies and PeopleNet for example.)

Yes, ALK Technologies is now a division of Trimble.

Get a 5 inch Garmin 580. It' $300-ish it will do everything the more expensive 7 inch screen models do but cost about $200 less than them.

While the Rand McNally Roaad Atlas book has tons of useful info, it only has street-level info the the very biggest cities. You need that atlas book for all of the other info.
