How much is said broker paying you?
-
I would price insurance first to get an idea of cost. You may save quite a bit if the truck is a few years older.
-
What happens when your stuck half the day picking up a container and now your out of hours? Gonna sleep inside the day cab or be spending money on a hotel? What happens when this broker doesn't have those runs anymore? What happens when it's not all that its cracked up to be?
Your really going to run out and purchase a truck based on what a freight broker is spewing to you?ChevyCam, Cat sdp, Midwest Trucker and 3 others Thank this. -
You put MPG above reliability. OK. Truck will get great mileage sitting in the shop being repaired.
Tx Countryboy, Bakerman and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
I bet many people dream of running that route dedicated. He probably undercut tonns of people to get that lane.
I also bet broker wants to take advantage of you since you a are a newb and don't know anything.
Post the numbers and schedule the broker is offering, let's see what he is up toRideandrepair, Derailed and Western flyer Thank this. -
You won’t make it.
Your priorities are messed up.
Don’t worry about carrying more, there is a space (capacity) issue, not weight issue.
Mpg is subjective and doesn’t come into play until you get the truck. Budgeting it, always use the lowest number you can think of - 5mpg is a good start.
Reliability is the biggest concern.
Do your Due Diligence when buying. -
If I remember correctly.
Knight terminal out of Vegas has been running
And hiring for that same lane for about 10 years
Straight now.
Never can keep anybody on it.
Don't bother.
That broker can dump you the next day
After you buy your truck. Then what.
There's nothing you can do about it.
They do this stuff everyday.
Your at a complete disadvantage knowledge
Wise to that broker.
And he or she is going to take full advantage of it.Derailed Thanks this. -
