I should add that they also do "virtual" time studies every once in a while. They use the gps on the truck and the GPS in the diad when you stop complete to get a distance, they then have a time for how long X feet should take. That number shrinks year after year lol. I made pretty much the same amount of money at $30/hr as I did at $38/hr lol.

Won't be long and we will all be wearing fitbits to keep track of where we are and if our heart rate is consistent with someone taking a nap.

There is a way to skate at work. The ones that get me is when people get caught snoozing at truck stops or going shopping at Walmart. They couldn't make it any more obvious.

Yeah, if you’re gonna goof off at least do it somewhere near where you’re supposed to be.

Just a PSA: If you see someone taking a nap over the wheel at a truck stop, DO NOT, whatever you do, creep up nose to nose with him and lean on the air horn.

(Unless you can afford to buy said driver a new pair of shorts.)

This has nothing to do with anything. But for some reason I thought of this guy back in Iraq that tied a hammock between his tandems and his landing gear. This dude was out for two hours as they waited to download them. I got some stories on doing linehaul over there.

I’ve looked into their Vistar division before because I’ve seen it advertised around here sometimes. Pay looked decent to start and they claimed no ramps, only liftgates and electric jacks (I know that’s more of a disqualifier for you).

I just couldn’t figure out what they use Class A drivers for, because I’ve ran into their box truck drivers and was told they deliver candy and concessions to hotels and movie theaters...not exactly large items that you could fill up a trailer with.

I got caught shopping at Target once while on my route at US Foods. It was 11am and I had 2 stops left, 1 of them wouldn’t let me deliver until after 1pm and the other wouldn’t let me deliver until after 2pm. So I parked behind the 1pm stop and walked across the parking lot to get some shopping done at Target. Came back to see one of my supervisors parked in front of my truck. I could tell that he wanted to be mad, but I told him why I couldn’t deliver any of my remaining stops and that I had informed him of this issue with my route multiple times before.

While we are on micromanaging and rules I had a space and vis ride years ago where a try hard of a sup dinged me for drinking Gatorade at a red light lol. Since there is another guy on here I worked with I'll say that it was Two Scoops, he'll get a kick out of that. So don't drink anything at red lights... unsafe.

I have Gatorade, but as a reserve for when its 100F, and 90% humid. And I've already gone through my gallon of water.

Done that a few times over the years, and been VERY happy that I keep that bottle in the truck. Warm Gatorade is better then nothing.
