Im sure melton will. I think tmc has auto trucks . most companies already have them or are switching to them . best thing would be to ask the recruiter , they will know for sure.

P&S Transportation has autos. My friend works for them. His truck is automatic. Builders Transportation has some autos as well

Builders! Thats who i have been trying to remember everytime someone with a criminal record asks.

I loaded a conveyor in danville kentucky next to a guy from builders who did like 14yrs for somethin real bad when he was a young gangster. Said they were great to work for, had a second chance program. Sorry for the OT just didnt wanna forget again.

Builders is a good company. They may be different now since they're apart of Daseke according to a trainer I talked to. I enjoyed my time there, they were a little strict, but the money was good there. They got me home every week

  9. This is why we recommend finding a "trucking school" that has a manual transmission to train and take test on.

Try not to.limit yourself to "auto only" it will hurt your chances with a company that has manuals.

I can not imagine being restricted to an auto, and I do not care what anybody says, somewhere down the line in a long carreer, a guy is going to miss out on some great money at some point because of it.

    I agree
Although if I were the owner I’d probably buy autos

I had some wood delivered to my house a while back and I can’t believe the U joints of the truck didn’t explode

the guy driving the straight truck was revving the engine and slipping the clutch and the driveshaft was pinging back and forth so bad I walked away to get out of the blast radius

you need to learn how to drive a Manual
It’s not hard and the tester won’t let you float the gears during the test , you have to double clutch each shift during the test , so it’s not hard to pass the test .
And yes, at some point you’re going to get an opportunity with a heavy haul company or something with a company that doesn’t have any automatics
I know one company that their entire fleet is 600 HP / 18 speed W900-L
Although learning to drive a manual is the least of your worries getting hired on with them . They require a high FICO score , and no criminal convictions ,and not just for you

if your siblings , parents , or in-laws have any criminal convictions or bad credit , you won’t get hired .

    Oxbow Thanks this.
