Hey guys, looking for a fabricator to build/rebuild front and rear extensions for my trailer and having a really hard time finding someone in my current area that can do this without trying to rip me off.
By rip me off I mean, not $8,000 for front extensions alone like a quote I got in FL.
Currently in the NYC area looking for a guy that will do it asap within a reasonable price. Already lost a lot on this trailer but I fixed all the problems except proper extensions that work.
Looking for a fabricator/welder in this area:

Are you trying to add the front 'flippers' to your wedge?

Rear flippers are also horribly designed and weigh a ton. -

I used to leave Florida empty for free all the time , as long as the load going there paid decent , I’d just hightail it back to Atlanta and good freight , I would go back empty before I’d haul cheap freight , and it made about the same money anyway since I could be back to Atlanta by the time you got the cheap freight load picked up .Lite bug Thanks this. -

Also.. just a tip.. I live here in FL and I honestly haven't done many cars but I notice the run from Central FL to AL tends to pay around $250-300. It's about a 400-500 mile run give or take so 3 cars @ $250 is $750 so like $1.50-1.80/mile to come out of FL on a 1 day run depending how close the cars pick/up & drop.. Now you'd have to do research on your possibilities coming out of AL or LA but might be worth looking at for your FL escape plan..
It doesn't work for me because I'm flat deck and can only haul 2 so with out the 3rd it's not good enough but I think that's likely a good bet for a 3/4 car hauler out of FL.Last edited: Nov 17, 2019
