when i did yardman work for a short time (about 1 year, and 2 months worth)...i had to deal with this set up, using a day cab as well. it was a city tractor, so it had to be ready for the day driver.

look at the pick, and i will explain what i did and had to deal with

ok so empties were parked at the upper right. hook up, move them from there to the left, towards the factory, sharp left (90 degrees) down that short path, sharp right, (another but VERY TIGHT 90 degree turn), then put into what ever door i had to.

also too, there was a night shift of workers, that i had to maneuver around.....fun times.....in a day cab, not a yardhorse.

now across form the loading docks, is where you might see a line of trailers?

that's where all the loaded city trailers went, then at the end of the night, hook up ALL the trailers/tractors...

in that picture, you will see LOTS of houses...so things HAD to be done QUIETLY..!!!

    no drop and slamming...!!!!!

link may not be working, having trouble here...gimme time guys..

sorry, link to picture, not working, oh well...

My last yard job truck was a Ford 9000. I think about a 2004 model if it is at all possible.

I had clean forgotten how well those things turned in the city like philly when we had the early 90's versions back then up there. This 9000 was a sweetheart. Air conditioning and everything. My job was mindless then. All I had was 25 trailers supporting a production building with three docks and migrate them over to the shipping building with 16 docks. Arrange them by number 1,2, 3, 4, 5 , 6 back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.,...

The 9000 was suppose to be the nicest riding truck ever. The air ride cab was troublesome, and many removed the air bags. Large Marge drove a 9000.

That was shot in Cabazon, Cal. A guy named Claude Bell created those, as an attraction for his restaurant that really was called the Wheel Inn.

use to stop there every Sunday evening. Their special was prime rib. Eat, take a nap then bust out for downtown LA to beat the Banning scales before they opened!
Oh how I miss those chicken hauling daze!!:)

Looking at those pictures posted, those places look easy!
Some of those mom and pop warehouses downtown NYC, LA, New Orleans and Chicago make those look like a 40 acre parking lot!!

Cover up the back window and see if the boss notices.
If he asks why, tell him you don't need it anymore because blind siding isn't allowed.
