I dont think so. Change oil brand first.
    Then go from there.

I wouldn't worry about the brand as long as it's minimum CJ-4. Can you afford an inframe? Just keep an eye on it.

If the air filter was badly restricted, you should be able to tell.
The truck should pull better, the engine should run a little cooler, your fuel mileage should improve at least slightly, your gauges will tell you.
I drove through a dust storm one time with a freshly serviced truck with a brand new air filter and 800 miles later it needed to be replaced.
When diagnosing a problem, eliminate the cheap stuff first, like filters.
If it turns out you need an in frame or something else major, you're going to want a new air filter anyway.

An afterthought, make sure crankcase is venting properly.
I'm an old guy, don't know what the kids call it these days, but in my time they called it PCV, positive crankcase vent.

    Good luck.

Just a few points to be aware of if you delete:

-Any warranty from the rebuild will be null and void.
-Apparently its very hard to find shops that will work on deleted trucks.
-Many deletes are hack jobs with crappy programming. A bad delete will kill that rebuild loooooong before the emission equipment will.

I will speak no more about this since discussing how to, where to and who does deletes is a subject the TTR Forum owners don't want discussed on their website.
