I really wanted to like this company. However from my experience when someone leads off with religion they're usually full of ****.

It's run by some Hispanic guys (not an issue, just mentioning in case there's similarly named companies) that seemed pretty cool initially but I told the son up front: I don't play about my money. And I'll quit immediately if it's played with. I give notice if it's just a better opportunity. I'm a reasonable person. I left their truck in top shape and kept pictures. The other brother the day before told me himself I'm a good driver.

I however have an obligation to other working men out here. I looked on my recent settlement and notice a $75.00 deduction for "Not certifying logs". I text one brother and ask him to contact me via text about this. I wanted this documented because it's about money. This was around 5am.

He texts me back telling me it's company policy and sends an image of a document I signed showing that IF THERE IS A CHARGE DUE TO A DOT LOG VIOLATION, THE DRIVER WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE CITATION. PER AS TOLD DURING ELD ORIENTATION.

Fair enough. However firstly, "orientation" was us sitting in the truck for 15 minutes showing me this brand new ELD app his company used and never mentioned a $15 per day charge for not certifying logs. I ask for some documentation showing the DOT citation and he says "The charge isn't from a citation it's just company policy". Keep in mind I've been here for about 3 weeks. What I signed doesnt mention this per day fee either.

This guy calls me everyday and never mentioned this. Brand new driver using an unfamiliar ELD system and you don't mention this? Plus he emails me a copy of an email he sent to other drivers in the company in the beginning of October/Late September about this specific charge policy. I've been here 3 weeks, I never got that email. I triple checked my email/primary/spam/trash every folder.

So basically we just up and started charging me for not certifying my logs when apparently I've been doing it wrong all along; thinking I'm doing things right when I'm not. Again, I'm never given ANY warning about this deduction policy pertaining to an ELD system I clearly told the son I've never used or heard of. The FIRST time I hear about it is after I see the deduction.

That's a big problem for me. His other drivers get home every other day and on weekends. I stay out 2 weeks at a time. I work hard for my money. Don't just take money from my check and say nothing about it. And then when I mention it he's basically unapologetic about it. Here's the kicker though.

We don't have a problem telling drivers to run illegally with paper logs to get a certain dedicated route done, do we guys? Oh we're supposedly HARDCORE about logs, so we take money from drivers. But hey....psssst....we can't do this route legally, so use paper logs on this one.

    What!?

I've got proof of everything I'm saying. And when companies actually pay me and make things right, I report that too. When a company is fair, I report that as well. This is crap, though. Yes, I'm fully aware that I'm supposed to certify my logs everyday. I thought I was. I had forgotten the specific buttons to do it and thought it was being done the way I was doing it. Not one warning? And we talk EVERY workday through check calls??

I don't care how much of a finger wagger you are, that's crap. And get this. They had me on an important dedicated load that picked up in the afternoon. I quit in the morning and knowingly gave them about 10 hours to find a replacement. I could have been vindictive and quit last minute or made some other reckless choice with the load. I felt like I had been stolen from and quit immediately.

The Jesus on the side of the truck and the biblical names for the trucks don't mean squat from my experience. If there's a way to show text images on here, PM me and let me know. I know how to black out names and such. If they see this they'll know who I am so that's not an issue. I made the screenshots for the same reason everytime it's business; in case I need to go after my wages.

A name of the company means nothing.

I can see it as Barking Dog Express, Comicbook Delviery servies INC its just a name.

Now if they are trying to take advantage of many churches in the Atlanta area then thats the name angle for them. Atlanta churches are not just churches.

As 157 stated, hound hound hound hound hound. Just be aware of your limits vs harrasment etc.

    Good luck

These guys out here getting stranded by these companies that talk a good game and some even also use religion. 3 weeks no pay. Nothing but excuses from the company but hey, keep hauling those loads.

Nah, not me bro. Yes, I'll quit if "only $75" is stolen from me. These same guys take $1800.00 in ESCROW with $90.00 per check deductions.

Nope. Stand up for yourselves out here, guys. Be practical, yeah, but if the red flags start showing, gtfo of there ASAP. Don't give them 3 and 4 weeks of screwing you only to leave you stranded, broke and desperate. These companies don't care about workers. You're a number. Look out for yourselves and YOUR families.

    Drive safe all.

I bit a Mexican once. He wasn’t half bad. They’re no Kentuckian, mind you. But, not half bad. I bet with a bit of lemon and salt, you’d be onto something!
