am i reading that the wrong way??? you guys are more in the loop then i am and i want to make sure i got all my ducks in a row when i get back out there.
everything i'm finding so far is the hours have to be consecutive. and nothing comes up for the 8/2 rule yet. i'm still researching, so don't think i'm trying to start a fight. i just want to be clear on everything cuz i don't want to have to deal with DOT when he wants to check me out.

This particular question has come up before, and in other threads. For those of us still in the final stages of deciding, would you please post your thoughts?
Thanks. -
here's one article that explains where i'm coming from. one paragraph states "THE MOST IDIOTIC PART OF ALL- TAKING AWAY OUR MEALS BREAKS.

now this is the confusing part. you can claim meals as off duty, but it doesn't extend your 14. and is not counted towards the 70. this part here brings things into perspective as to what you all are saying.

All schools have their perks and quirks. I am getting a grant to go to my school and will know by tomorrow my start date. Central does not take anyone from outside schools except from schools they work with and I do not know those. Do I think there are better companies then Central? Yes, but it is your opinion and each company is not like the other.
Some companies are owned by the same people and some are not. Central's owner owns Swift and Central freight lines. US Express owns Arnold Transportation. Theres others but do not know who they are. I will choose my company very carefully and will post it in a new thread.

Goodbye motorcycle
Just had an Asian guy give me the money I was aking for and she rolled out of the driveway. I will pay Central their $3000.00 and wash my hands of the whole thing.
Snowwy, you'll get it once you're back out there. I drove for about 10 hrs. like JJ and I was fine.
The Central school is good but it is accelarated. By that I mean it moves at a fast pace. You're first day is paperwork but after that it is off to the races. Class time is somewhat boring but you have to pay attention or you will miss something. Once you are out on the range/road it goes quick. -
Split breaking is a Pain in the ### and most companies do not like you to do it! -
i'm starting to see why. these new rules are a little on the tricky side. i've been going over some logbook violations and some of them just don't make nooooooooooo sense at all. starting to figure out that consecutive time is the only way to keep your arse out of trouble.
here's an article i thought interesting though.

i made another post but either the moderators are still approving, in which it will be posted twice or not at all. i had couple other links in there as well. -
I am sooooooooooooooooo ready to hit the road again. Would have went out yesterday if I hadn't already had something planned. 6 days off and its killing me. Wonder what will happen if I ever decide to take a "real" vacation. Still, all in all, this time off was much better than sitting at a meat plant, knowing that I would just have to swap the load off.

JJ is sitting in Commiefornia waiting to be unloaded and then a quick trip back to Fontana to pick up a loaded trailer going to the Cheese country, so some good miles.

Once you start your 14 hr clock anything from line 1 tru 4 counts aganist it only lines 3 and 4 count aganist your 70 and yes if your 14 has started a nap or even eating is all counted in. If you start your 14 by going to line 4 then go to line 2 and nap for 3 hrs then go eat for 2 that equals 5 you now have 9 hrs left on your 14 if you drive for 8 you have only 1 hr left of your 14 the only way to stop it is to take a 10 hr break. Line 1 dose not mean your off duty as if you went home just means you stepped out of the truck for a meal thats all if you go home for H/T you go to line 1 fo0r the whloe time your off.
