I'm calling BS on that article.

If any of it was true I would have stroked out 30 years ago.
I have a toke 5 or 6 times a day, minimum 20% THC, and smoke tobacco on top of it.
On top of that I've had
    pneumonia 4 times.

At 65 years old my blood pressure is in the safe zone, my lungs are clear and most of my pot smoking friends, whether they smoke tobacco or not, are all pretty healthy to, but not many of them are drinkers, a beer here and there and they don't eat a lot of junk food.

If you want to talk about my old drinking buddies, most of them are dead or in poor health, and having watched them killing themselves I'm happy to have quit 35 years ago.
My Dad and many of his buddies drank themselves to death and I saw where my friends were going, not a place I wanted to go.

Life is about moderation, smoking, toking, drinking, food, work environment, air quality, water, genetics, where you live, it all comes into play when discussing effects on peoples health.

There's several people I know of that have passed on between 48 and 54.
