Your air compressor, does it get its fresh air from the intake just before it goes into the turbo?

Just wondering if its pumping oil. When compressor is not pumping into tanks it pumps into the air intake .

If not it could just be a bad turbo also, it happens. How much boost you running with that tune in there.

Not sure on the turbo boost dont have a gauge but the turbo getting replaced because of warranty never thought about the air compressor .so my question is if the compressor is bad and leaking oil will it reach all way to the turbo bottom part??????

I doubt it, the compressor is sucking there, the oil will be going the other way, never heard of a compressor doing that at all.

The compressor takes filtered turbo charged air in from the intake.Takes oil in via oil supply line, returns oil into front cover, where it bolts up.Brings coolant in and out using lines. Might push oil towards air dryer, especially if it’s old, might push air into crankcase, causing blowby, if it’s old, or has a broken piston ring. Anything’s possible, I guess, never heard of one putting oil into the intake.

No no. I wasn't sure on the ddec5 engines if the compressor got its fresh air from intake on engine or from the intake tube going into the compressor of turbo. If it's like a ddec4 then no compressor will not cause this.

More then likely your turbo is bad.

Maybe it’s a dedec5? 2006, I had no idea they get intake directly from turbo. Learn something everyday

I'm not 100% sure either. Lol

The new x15 and Im guessing the x12 or x13 pull that air for the compressor from a cast aluminum housing clamped onto the snout of the turbo. Took me a long time to get used to hearing the compressor through the air filters on my pete.
