I just emailed my ICA whatever they are called. He told me old ic’s will be grandfathered in. Time will tell.

Halfway through my first day of orientation. Arrived at the hotel to have a quick burrito and blueberry muffin with oj for breakfast. Hopped on the shuttle with 4 other drivers to SFI in Phoenix. We then inspected our individual trucks making sure everything is working properly. After finding nothing wrong with mine (it being brand new), we shuffled inside to go over the lease contract and sign our lives away. It's at this point that I signed up for the ATBS service for now just to ease my transition from company driver to O/O.

After being pronounced man and truck we got into the shuttle and rode to the SNI terminal down the road, where we recieved a ton of literature and began taking our pee and hair tests. Girl administering the hair test was quite the looker (but don't tell my fiancee!!) and we began to go over paper logs before taking our lunch. I ordered a Cali club chicken sandwich but I think they gave me a chicken chipotle :( I didn't ask for tomatoes!!

Looking forward to the rest of the day, and everyone in my group has a positive attitude, many of which have been O/Os before. I'm getting all the advice I can :D

As far as ATBS, you can make a pretty simple spreadsheet to track your expenses and income then email that to a CPA and they’ll do your taxes for a pretty reasonable cost. plus I’ve always liked inputting my numbers weekly just to keep an eye on things. I’m actually thinking about a more polished trucking software because my spreadsheet skills are basic at best but for 3 years they’re served their purpose

My lady has a friend who does her whole family's taxes so I may end up considering her services instead. I just want to make sure I can trust her with my business first though because a 1099 is way different from a W2
