    Hello all,

Trying to find out the reason for this switch. As far as I can tell, the only purpose would be to activate the brake lights, for some reason?

    thank you!

Pretrip? Does it stay on when pushed?
Also, get tailgaters off without actually slowing the truck, but that's unlikely the designed usage.

Haven't pushed it yet while driving, too scared haha. But I have pushed it when parked and it just activates the brake lights as far as I can tell. Then when the parking brake released, the switch releases also. Quite the conundrum.

Don't the brake lights come on with the parking brake on? Maybe this over rides that, like when you're sitting for 2 days. Leave it to Peterbilt, could be handy going around a scale :biggrin_25522:

No, brake lights don't come on when parking brakes are set. If they did every truck in the truckstop would have their brake lights on.

They should only come on if the squaw handle is pulled when parked, but it should not be used for a parking brake.

Ahem,,squaw handle?:biggrin_2559: You mean the johnny bar? I know that, but it's why you never set the trailer brakes, because the brake lights would come on. Maybe that's changed.
