I have a 2011 Cx-11 and the number three deck is not lowering properly. I’m having to pin left side to get deck level. Can someone tell me why this is happening?

Everything have a good code of slip plate, including the outer slides? If so, the most likely cause is the flow divider malfunctioning. It could also bekinked hose ot a cylinder leaking internally as well.

Not sure if you are in the cold yet, but my rig has definitely noticed it as it lowers much slower than it did a few weeks ago. A spray can of good lube or slip plate will temporarily help if it is a lube issue. Some warm day in the near future my rig gets a thorough slip plating to get me through the winter.

Cottrell and that iso46 (20w) they insist on using!. I always top off with iso32 (10w) which helps some. It's not as big a deal on a quickloader, but if I had a highrail with all those telescopics, I believe I'd have a tank heater installed. Ain't nobody got time for all that waiting on cylinders to come down!

I thought about a thinner fluid in the winter but the company shop foreman talked me out of it. He said that it turned a minor leak in to a major event. One more reason to stay home in extreme weather conditions.

Meh. The only minor leaks I can think of are if a cylinder seal starts leaking. I think I've changed two in 15 years? I could see it maybe being more of an issue on extreme cold valve bank leaks, but proper torque fixes that, and that's a issue that only lasts a short time after pump startup. And only in below zero temps.

Cottrell has an option for 22w oil for northern climates. I haven't tried it but I would if I ever bought another high rail.

It has been cold this past week and the truck has not been working lately actually bought it a few weeks ago and put my personal vehicle on all the decks before it gets put to work. They functioned properly without a load , but with a vehicle on the deck it will not come down the way it should. It does need slip plate but I didn’t think it would Be an issue. as I’ve ran company truck with no such issues with very little slip plate on rails. Thanks for the input much appreciated

Usually this the outer slides (between slide rails and post) on the front of that deck binding. Fluid film works great on those.

What ^^^^ Hammer said. You would be surprised how much better it will come down loaded freshly lubed. If you use the Fluid Film only use it on places you don’t come in contact with as it never dries like slip plate, but it works much better than slip plate on certain parts of your rig. Walmart.com has a case of spray cans of fluid film now cheaper than I have seen lately. I have a case on the way. If you buy it in gallons paint style cans you can brush it on and that will be the cheapest way to buy it. I carry cans of spray style for places that start sticking while I am on the road.
