Would you buy a truck that has been sitting for 13 years.
Overall it is in very good shape for the year.
It has been started regularly. And starts right up now and sounds good with no smoke.
I do all of my own wrenching other than major engine work. I know what I am looking at and what to look for so my only concern is an engine that has sat so long without being worked

    Whys it been setting?
Expect to replace wheel seals, output shaft seals, pinion seals, etc. Basically anything that is a moving part with a seal on it that's not moved. Does everything in the cab work and work every time? Mice like to chew on wires and setting that long it's likely somethings live and eat in it.

Unless it's basically free it's not worth the hassle it could turn into.

It depends what ur trying to do with it. If its just a side project then go for it. If ur trying to run it down the road u are going to spend alot of time fixing little problems that occur after sitting for so long

A lot depends on what part of the country it has been sitting in, if a dry climate, yes, no problem. If a hot humid one, I would have to check her over pretty good. I have seen even the gears in the rears rust above the oil level.
I have one sitting here that has been close to 11 years since I have run it. I usually crank it a couple of times a year and may run it a block down the road, but I would not be afraid to crank it up and head to Florida after swapping the air bags. They would probably make it alright, but I would be afraid of it all the way. lol

Rear brakes, drums, wheel seals ,air bags shocks are all new, also alternator and starter, everything in cab works, all lights and sleeper controls, will need all new tires and front brakes and seals. Guy is an owner op pulling for landstar, bought this truck for a spare and never used it.has been sitting at the side of his shop on asphalt.

Check it our good, I would not be scared if it is what you are describing. A friend of mine bought a numbered 87 359 ex hood from another friend of mine a few years ago. It had something like 380,000 original miles on it and the plates were 15 years old.

He just did some minimal prep work on it and put it to work, he ran it a few months till he could order a new one and ran it a couple more months, then sold it to another friend that an it back and forth to seattle for a while.
