If you do a search on youtube for "Schneider Orientation" there's quite a few vids explaining their orientation process like this one. Some are linked from Schneider's wed site as well.

 

If there ever was a rock in this industry, Pumpkin is it. Been around since the 40's AND, you'll get to go to wonderful Green Bay Wisconsin. Just pray the Packers don't lose that week and I-43 is clear.

 

Do you have your CDL yet or are you going through the CDL school they have in Indy? If you don't have your CDL school one of your instructors will be a man named @Craig Ryan. He has a YouTube channel that is not as active since he got off the road but I'm sure he would be an awesome instructor. Hopefully he will chime in here. Best wishes to you!

Indy is a great terminal, little tricky getting into at midnight because it’s one of those “did I miss the turn, this road ends in like.. oh there it is” moments.
But its nice inside, schneider is not bad, they’ll hit you with information overload, just bring paper/pen take notes, talk with other drivers out in the smoking section, most are helpful.
Schneider will put you in motel, usually with someone else, they furnish lunch, Houston was Quiznos dont know about Indy, I was tanker

 

I got my start at Schneider. I'm from NJ also but I did my orientation in Carlisle, PA. Not sure why they are sending you to Indy for yours. I ran on a small 35 driver account for International Paper out of Kenton, OH. It had a bit more of a small company feel even though it was with massive Schneider. That was probably my saving grace. For what it was, my experience was pretty good and they treated me well. They even paid for a 600 mile rental car home after I turned in my two weeks notice.

I did 2 years and moved on to bigger and better things (for me) but I still know a bunch of guys that are happy being lifers there. The orientation is quick so get what you can get out of it, pay attention, and take notes. Lots of notes. Treat every day as a learning experience, stay off their radar and you'll do fine there.

 

I was in West Memphis a few years ago, if I recall right the recruiter gave me an option to choose between Indianapolis and West Memphis. I chose West Memphis over Indy because of warmer weather and less chances of snow. Terminals in West Memphis AR, Gary IN, Carlisle PA are (almost) identical, Indianapolis looks alike, one could notice it's the same architectural plan slightly modified, once you go through the front door, Driver's Services on the left, Cafeteria on the right, etc.

Make sure you know how to do basic truck driving prior to coming to 18-day Orientation, the Orientation in West Memphis didn't include them teaching new drivers how to drive a truck nor gave time to practice backing maneuvers in the yard.
I say this because on my road test in West Memphis, there was another new driver in the truck who was attempting to do his first left turn way too fast, the instructor pulled out emergency brakes to stop the truck from entering the intersection, new driver went on to make mistakes doing basic stuff, instructor later failed him. First 2 weeks of classroom time are designed for drivers to get familiar with company's policies, teach them how to use in-cab computer/Qualcomm/tablet, etc, last week is OTR with the trainer.

I advise you to talk with the recruiter, people at the Terminal, your Operations Manager about your job position in details, my recruiter gave me incorrect information about my pay, home time, bonuses and other things. I would also advise you to keep track of your pay, there were issues with my Orientation pay coming out of West Memphis and issues with my paychecks there after. Hopefully you'll be of better luck.
