Had the worst week of my 12 yr old companies existence so far. Monday one of my drivers hit ice while going too fast empty and jack knifed it into a ditch. Trailer I think will be fine, the truck is totaled.

Rest of the week consisted of emissions problems on 2 different trucks, a couple flat tires on brand new ones, and at least one load getting loaded and delivered to the wrong receiver 450 miles away. Among many other smallish things....I’m so F’ing done with this week!

    Total disaster. Rant over.

Tell the owner that if this crap keeps up, your quitting.
Also he needs to fire just about every one, yep, maybe even you.

You have to have a bad week every now and then so you can appreciate the not so bad ones. I hope your good weeks outweigh the bad.

Go into the bathroom, look at yourself in the mirror, and quietly say "Well, dummy, you wanted to be in the trucking business. Now you are".
    Sometimes that helps.
A shot or two of firewater doesn't hurt anything either.

    Thank you sir. Much appreciated.

Boy howdy! Had a few of those bathroom splashing water on my face and a little pep talk this week. The wife and I have taken a liberal approach to the fire water tonight. :D

Thanks man, I know you know how it is!

When I say "I know how it feels" Believe it- Its a shotty cost of doing business- On your side bud........What I do on those Rough weeks where I Lose a ton of money..I Just pretend like im starting over the next week- Makes it feel a lil better anyway. Hope your guy is alright that put it in the ditch.

Dont fire him just yet until you get the whole story. Then make up your mind.

A few years ago a friend of mines wife called me and wanted me to call her husband. They had a landscpe supply business, basically a dumptruck business, but stocked lot of different landscape rock. Anyway, he quit and just went home. she didn't think much about it , but 3 days later he still was at home. lol
I called and told him it didn't work like that, he couldn't just quit. He told me the hell he couldn't. lol
I finally talked him into going back to work, but a couple years the housing boom busted, so he got out anyway. lol
