Effective April 1, USA Truck changed said it changed its method of accounting for tires, one of several cost-savings efforts.

in other words, they're waiting for tires to blow before they'll replace em :D
I don't know why companies take the most expensive route to fix a truck... Just replace the tires when they're bad and you won't have to pay to fix them on the road...

Heh they took a perfectly good tire off my drive axle and replaced it because it was a "trailer tire" I've got 4 new skins on the #3 now but they rotated the other tires to the #2. Now the truck feels "squishy" on launch.

One time they told a repair shop to put "the flat tire back on the trailer" so I "liberated" a tire removal tool and sent in a mac 32.

    "That tire's gone"
    "GONE?"
"Yeah it was flat, it needed a patch, you wouldn't pay for that and now it's missing. Probably in sombody's windshield now."

The irony is JUST the day before I was in a 5 hour safety lecture.

yeah i told them one time that i had one bad tire on the trailer. The steel belts were showing. They told me to head to the roanoke terminal mind you i was down in north carolina at the time the southern part of the state.needless to say the bad tire blew out and took out the tire next to it on the same axle so they ended up having to send out roadside assistance to replace two tires

What is a fair price for Roadside Assistance coming out w/ a new re-tread and replacing it. Mind you it was at a rest area in FL and the Tire repair place couldnt have been that far. Just a question as I just had it happen to me and a cool $400 later I am on my way. Arrgghhh!

    That seems pretty fair.

So this was a company i was planning on maybe starting with..with this 22 percent drop, should i reconsider USA Truck as an option? Im new to this whole trucking thing so im not to sure how big of an impact this is...however it seems pretty bad.
