I know it’s been passed on short notice, but I think the court will drop it from the lawsuit.

    Yep, California sucks right now.
California is the way it is because of your kids. Yep, that kid that you beat the crap out of because he refused to believe in Jesus? He’s over here. That little boy you guys made fun of because he refused to play football or baseball but instead wanted to do colorful artistic things? Guess what? When he left your house after graduation he went straight for California. That daughter that you locked in her room because you caught her kissing another girl? She’s over here now.
Everyday I see fresh faces here of young kids with midwestern and southern accents working the tables at restaurants and selling clothes at the local mall. When I see these kids I often ask myself what kind of homes these kids came from to make them take that trip to come here. Were they running away or chasing a dream that they couldn’t find back home?
The saddest part is that its expensive and unforgiving over here and if you don’t have anyone to lean on you’re screwed. The smart ones know when to cut their loses and leave. As for the rest, well, let’s just say that the pretty girls end up in the valley doing porn to pay for rent and the boys end up in Venice or Santa Monica doing tricks for middle aged perverts.
California is a s*hole and the people who made it a s*hole came from your neck of the woods. So stop and think for a second, if your community is so much better, why are your kids leaving it to come here?

I guess you'll have to find your own freight instead
    Of depending on someone else.
You know, like a real business owner.

As a business owner my goal is profit. And I maximize my profit by moving specialty product. The name on the side doesn’t change the fact that I own the truck. I can get authority and do the same thing I’m doing now but I don’t feel like spending a ton of money on insurance.

So now that your snarky comment is out of the way, please explain why it’s the government’s job to protect people from making poor choices on their own free will.

Ok wait a moment. I am a contractor. I own my truck and trailer. I own my own trucking company. I'm leased to a carrier and make great money. But according to California I am not allowed to be a contractor because my business (trucking) is the same business as the company I'm leased to. So now when I'm in California I am to be treated as an employee but I'm really not. This law is so unrealistic it is not funny.

That statement is unfair. Yes you can go and have your own authority and bust your ### to maybe get $2.50 a mile be me being leased to a company and make better then $3.50/ mile with out having to try hard is a no brainier

Everyone has a different situation. Just saying that some one is not a real business owner just because they are leased to a company is very short sighted
