    Dave,
You are sooo right. I too only stop at TA/Petro unless there aren't any and never a Pilot/Flying J. They are the only stops that are truck driver oriented.

They replaced the excellent restaurant in the TA at Lexington Va about 3 years ago with an IHOP. I used to stop there every time I went up or down 81.

    Haven't been back since.

I don't have a problem with IHOP but I don't see how that replaces what was already there for truck drivers.

I guess it has done well enough for them to want to put those in everywhere but I have never supported that restaurant.

Yep. I used to always stop there too, especially for breakfast. It's funny how I used to hate salt cured ham when I was a kid. Now I crave it and it's hard to find anymore.

Not to be rude, but you should read up more on history. I am by no means a scholar but......

SS was started after the Great Depression in the late 1920’s early 30’s. This is also the time women had to start working more in order to help survive. They also cut down on making babies.

Most people of this era are no longer with us.

Women also had to get into the work place during the World Wars, especially WWII they were encouraged to do so.

Most people of this era are no longer with us.

The boomers had a chance to give women equal rights by enacting the ERA bill which they DID NOT DO.

Yes there are great problems in our society but the people on this forum (or most of the people on this forum) are not the problem.

To everyone: please read a book once in a while and don’t get your history lessons from Alex Jones, Fox News or CNN.

BTW, I do not like KFC or IHOP, IMO they are both overpriced and have low quality food.

Over the years of driving I have made notes of small restaurants that have truck parking or parking close by. I rarely eat at the big truck stops especially west of the Mississippi River.
Believe me, there are plentiful places and good places too.

Russell's in NM on I40 has a nice museum but be careful what you order at the restaurant. Seems to be mostly canned and frozen reheated food now.

Breakfast seemed to be made to order though.

Need more variety than subway. Too many Carl's jr. out this way too.

And what's with really busy truck stops having the food places shut down at 10pm? Come on....
