Now put some heet and maybe stp or any cheap 16 Oz gasoline treatment in it, and run that old gas real low, fill up with fresh. Change oil, and whatever else, fuel filter, plugs, air filter when you can.

i was trying to conjure up my memory on who in particular was the ford man..i thought AJ Foyt, but he was a chevy man..

of course, i recall stock car (before NASCAR) days, but the memory fades about the infancy of those days.

looks like Cale Yarborough was a ford man for a while

Hell it runs like new now lol .
Just going to change the oil and grease it .
Only flaw I can find is a low spongy brake pedal ,but the fluid tank was empty with no leaks found anywhere.
Today I will pull all the wheels look at the brakes closer ..will just put new front pads on as long as I have it apart anyway .
My brother in law wasnt not exactly a paragon of vehicle maintenance so low fluid levels including the coolant not surprising .
But when ya only drive to the liquor store and back lol..

I understand I'm a gear head myself, I have a 500 hp 72 SS Nova. I'm just saying sometimes topics get off track when people are in a bind trying to get some help. That's all. Peace.

Well I said I'd keep you guys posted .
Oil and all the filters changed .
Greased all the zerks it had and put on new front pads .
Still runs like new ...butttttttttt.......what ravages Minnesota winters have done to the underside !
It's got the usual Minnesota rust on the body but every brake line from the the middle of the cab to the rear axle is rusted to dust and leaking .
Everything except the backing plates and drums are shot too.
Guess I'm going to get good at making brake lines tmw .

    dwells40 Thanks this.
