So I'm located in SC, and I'm wanting to know which companies pay for you to get CDL? I know I will have to sign a contract. But I need to be pointed in the right direction.

The right direction is not to sign anything for company to pay. YOU get dismissed or fired for creasing a tire 3 months in and then are immediate full balance due and payable that day.
Might as well save up the cash and get your own CDL. That way it's yours free and clear from any financial form of indentured servitude which our 13th amendment clarifies by saying you borrow this money against one or two years work with such a such free will. You are not free.Southcak23 Thanks this. -

I assume SC has CDL classes at state vo tech schools ?
the one In Georgia is $1600 and 9 weeks long
it’s a good class
All of the instructors were retired drivers with decades of driving experience
Two weeks on regs and paperwork
Two weeks backing trailers
Two weeks shifting gears
Two weeks driving on real highways
They are third party testers , you get your CDL Learners permit , drug test and medical card on your own before the class , and passing the class is your official dmv road test .
its $1600.
Please please please don’t borrow $8,000 from a trucking company to attend their lousy three week class that no other company will accept .
get your CDL on your own .
Then you can pick what company you want to work for
my nephew attended the state vo tech class and accepted a job offer at a small local company that does oversize overweight secure heavy haul loads
the company is very selective , and has a background investigation that includes your siblings, parents and In laws , since the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree .
but they will hire students with no driving experience , home every weekend and it pays about 40 cents a mile for the first years and then doubles , to about 80 cents a mile after the first year, it’s a percentage and does vary depending on the load, Driving brand new W900 kenworths -
I went with Millis Transfer and I’m very happy with the training. From your location they have schools in Eden, NC or Cartersville, GA. I recommend the latter. It has an on sight CDL examiner.
