Yeah they can be made right mine was a great motor. What's the going rate for the good old files these days? A $1,000? It'll need a $2,000+ turbo too. Unless these things have already been done which come to think of it it's hard to imagine anyone still driving a stock MBN 16 years after the fact.

I'll second this. The Pete's are kinda like the Ford Mustang. Nothing wrong with either of them by the way. But everyone has one. And they all have some doodads on them to customize them. But at the end of the day, they look like any other Pete 379.

The same can be said about the w900. They are just as common as the Pete. And with few exceptions(just like 379s) they look like every other w9.

My 91 Pete has a thermostat in the bunk.....I also want to say your comparing apples and oranges. Comparing a 96 to an 06 isn't completely fair. They all took a hard nose dive in those 9 years. I have a 91 that doesn't have any of the issues you describe....

Also a bull wagon with 8 bag kenworth suspension in an oops situation???? Come on cow hauler I was born in the dark but it wasnt last night

I forgot to put in my post that I would NOT choose the Peterbilt, in case you couldn't tell, LOL.

But on a completely and totally serious note, I really can't believe that Peterbilt trucks have those kinds of problems.

If I were to ask someone why would you pay such an outrageous amount of money for a truck and such an outrageous amount of money for parts, the answer will always be because Peterbilt is the best made truck. I have never believed that, but that is always the answer that you will get.

And, again, I'm being sincere about this. It is staggering to me that those trucks have those kinds of problems, because most of them are basic fundamental things that should just work on any truck that you have, let alone the supposed best made truck. That is just unbelievable that they are so poorly designed and engineered.

And everyone can like what they like, that's cool I get that. But if I was going to spend an outrageous amount of money so that I can have something that's supposed to be the very very best top of the line best of the best, if it had the kind of problems those trucks have, I would feel ripped off.

If you read my post, you know what it sounds like to me...LOL

But being completely serious, I don't know why anyone would want one even if they cost the same as any other truck, let alone at an insanely expensive price.

It's okay, you don't have to explain it to me. To me that's just common sense, and I don't think it's something that I will ever understand.

But if you enjoy it for whatever reason I'm happy for you.
