I think the terminal is on the West side of Atlanta off of I-20. I've talked to a lot of Werner drivers that like the company. Most were on dedicated accounts for Home Depot. I hear they are always looking for trainers and people for dedicated customers like Wal-Mart and Home Depot. The pay seems to leave a little to be desired. I talked to one flatbed driver that was making .05 a mile less than me and he'd been with the company eight years.

Hometime? Only on dedicated. And lately its been more than wanted. Miles have dropped from around 2700-2900 to about 2100-2300 a week on the account my other half is on. I know they are loading less than half the loads they did a year ago, and have even stopped loading on Sundays.

On OTRs, they seem to spend a lot of time at truck stops with hometime being about once every 3-5 weeks. Since Werner just dropped their line by 10% a couple of months ago, and stated their hauls are 14% less longer than a year ago, I would assume that means more "down" time.

As for pay, depends upon the account you are on.

Atlanta terminal? No clue, other half has never been to the Atlanta terminal in 18 years with Werner. I did however find a couple pictures of it.

thanks for the replies i tried to convince him to go another route he had two other offers one from swift and one from covenant but both of those orentations were not until september so sonce werner could get him into an orientation now he decided to give them a chance , he was also told at our local truck stops that it is easy for a new driver to get on a dedicated or regional route with them too so i guess we will hope for the best and see what happens !

When I was driving for werner, getting a dedicated acount was hard. They claim there was a waiting list, about 6 months wait at the time.I was able to a dedicated account within 3 months after I got hire but the miles were low.Dedicated is great if you want good home time but the pay isnt that great.I was only getting about 1300 to 1700 miles a week. But im not sure how it is these days.

    So he had his choice?

    Swift, Werner, or Covenant?

If I had to choose.... Werner would be my choice as well.

The Covenant Corporate terminal is 2 miles down the road from my home... I'd rather get ran over by one of their truck instead of driving for them... Actually the odds of me getting ran over by one of their trucks is greater then the chance that I'd work for them.

well all three had bad reputations but i heard the worst about covenant .. we live in south Ms just outside of gulfport so the atlanta terminal is only about 8 hrs away , hopefully it will all work out for the best and with time , experience and an open mind better opportunities will come his way,
