That describes just about any automatic tranny.

The newest ones have a "creep mode" where it gently engages the clutch without requiring fuel as soon as you let off the brake pedal. It's a game-changer. No more looking like a rookie when you back in somewhere. It even works on a slight grade.

Sometimes. Sometimes when you come to a stop it's still in eighth gear and tries to engage creep mode and rocks the truck like a Swift flunky. Creep mode really isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I was specifically referring to Reverse, which is much better in the new ones. I haven't experienced what you mentioned. Which transmission? Ours are the Eaton Endurant 12-speeds.

Meh... Get used to it is what I keep getting told. Automatics are more efficient, lower maintenance costs, and easier to drive for all the Gen X/Z drivers trickling in.

I guess everyone is going to have their opinion on them but for me I prefer a manual. Better control, faster response, and more driving involvement is why I like them. Don't get me started on backing. With a manual you can feather the clutch and slowly release it to control your speed as you get closer to the bumpers. With a automatic you either stomp on the peddle or you are not moving.

It's great creating a scene at your customers. You feather the pedal and nothing happens. You can push down and your truck goes from 0 to 15 mph within 12 seconds, and all at once. If the bumpers are hard, you make a crashing sound to let everyone know you have arrived. If the bumpers are soft, you hit them, whiplash your neck, and the rubber blocks rebound your truck 10 feet forward so you get to start all over again. Splendid.

I like the team work by me. I pulled in a loaded pup that had a gash in the front corner. Wrote it up and let inbound person know about it. Her response was it’s not my problem I don’t load pups....

Wow, she's too busy to take the 30 seconds to put it out of service in the computer?

Well she’s not busy at all....I’m gonna do an experiment one morning and write up that the tractor was on fire when I parked it and both steer tires are flat. Just to see if ANYONE looks at the dvir’s.
