Just read up on your issue. I was thinking egr the whole time. I’d be surprised if your head is cracked...

Is it a Cummins or ? I realize it’s probably too late now but I personally avoid the dealers and go straight to a factory Cummins shop. They are expensive but good about fixing only what actually needs fixing and have very good procedures for tracking down the problem correctly and the first time.

NOT THROWING STONES HERE.....but, sometimes you guys don't get it, but the folks at freightliner do.
What is your expectation? That he drive a broke truck around Dallas for multiple quotes?
Freightliner understands that here he is and here he will be until it runs. Soooooo, yeah, it's a little more expensive.
It's a stacked deck. No winners on this one. The up side is, if it's the dealership across from the TA, they have a swell drivers lounge.
    Good luck Bob.

Well, my most recent oil sample (which I got back the other day after I put the truck in the shop) shows coolant in the oil, though it's not visibly obvious yet. I also have coolant in the fuel, and coolant in the exhaust.

I do not think an EGR cooler can explain all that, can it?

The head would be why it’s in the fuel and oil. Egr the exhaust.

I'd think the egr cooler is the source for coolant in the oil and in the exhaust. if you have a heated davco fuel filter they tend to crack and can put coolant in the fuel. Just a thought. Good luck.

They checked the fuel filter assembly for coolant leaks before they went into the engine.

If it comes down to you paying for the repair or a sizeable amount of it, there is a company that advertises in Truckpaper called Cag capital. They advertise for financing of engine overhauls if you need to go that route. Hopefully that warranty will work for you.
