If I had known when this started that it would take this long, I would have.

The family wasn't expecting me home anyway. I had already told them I'd be home for Christmas, but not Thanksgiving.

Next time I have engine issues I will look for an engine specialist, I suppose.

This started as a coolant leak though, without obvious indications of engine issues.

I have decided I'll be selling or trading the truck as soon as it's paid off. That way it will have a bit of warrantee left on it for the next buyer. I'll probably get a better deal trading it in to a dealer, and since Freightliner has been doing most of the work, they will also know I've been maintaining the vehicle, and that it has a new head, and a new-ish one-box unit.

But that's the future. No need thinking about it too seriously right now.

    Thanksgiving update!

The cylinder head and EGR cooler are going to be covered. I will still be stuck with the deductible of 300, plus the cost of a lot of smaller bits and pieces that might need replacing, but most of the cost will be covered.

I #### near screwed it up for myself though. More on that later, when I have a real keyboard.

So, even though I am not at home, it is still a day for me to give thanks!

You can put a whole lot of motorcycles in a dry van to move them around the country, I suppose.

The problem with “documentaries” like that is they are going to show the worst case scenarios because that will get attention. Not many people would want to watch a 40 minute video about a successful owner operator with few complaints.

That’s some good news about your truck. Glad that the warranty is actually paying. It pays off to maintain things correctly and document everything you do. I’m sure the warranty company wasn’t happy that you had all your service records. Lol
