I think the idea is to distinguish yourself as much as possible from the aero looking trucks which often contain the human permit loads.

Flat tops have there advantages, on top of looking sweet..

Pulling a hopper, bucket, bottle, skateboard, covered wagon, bobtail.
Will see better economy pulling any of the above wagons. Pending short freight on the skate..
    They are lighter weight.
Easier to keep cool in the summer, or warm in winter.
I can squeeze under an 11' tall bridge now. If I was running a weed burner I could get under a 9' bridge.

How many condos have you seen knock down 11mpg while deadheading? My detroit powered '93 FLD flat top has done it pulling a 48' drop deck empty.

But, at 6'3" i can't stand up straight inside it..

PoleCrusher, Lepton1, Feedman and 6 others Thank this.

I'm in a midroof and it's just at 11' tall and I can stand full height with shoes and I'm 6'3". Heating is no problem with an espar. Most trailers you see are going to be up around 11 anyway. While flats might get shorter it's rare, and you're probably going to be avoiding any roads with a 9' bridge as a matter of safety regardless of clearance. And fuel mileage? What's that?
