My step father had I believe an 06 5 or 6 years ago (cant recall for sure) that blew it's head gaskets, but he was not the original owner and it is anybody's guess who's hands had been on it prior to that. If they get turned up without the studs it is only a matter of time before the heads lift off. A definite design flaw but then again it was designed to be a 200 hp school bus motor. Step-dad is not what anybody would call a patient man so he got fed up and traded it into Ford for a new 2013 which he still is driving.

Why 3 engines in 270,000, that seem a little (hmmmm) much. Just curious. I have a 1998 2500 with 335,000 on it, it pulls a 40' trailer alot. Had to replace the turbo at around 170K and the injection pump around 250K, other than that knockity knock knock down the road she goes. My son put most of the miles on it. But she still chooches great.
