I’m looking at the possibility of purchasing my own truck, And no I’m not new to trucking, i’ve been driving for around 14 years with my Class A. I’ve been driving tractor trucks with dump trailers and moving equipment with lowboys. So I’m trying to decide if I want to get my owed truck or go to work for another company, I’ve got some money to purchase a decent used truck and I know how to work on trucks so that doesn’t scare me. Right now I’m making around 50k a year I would like to make more money but I what kind of figured can I be looking at with my own truck? Any help would be appreciated thanks

The only limit is your imagination and your determination to succeed.

You can make a lot more than $50K as a company driver somewhere, especially if you have endorsements.

Alabama !!! Things are cheap there. Median house price is 60k then again I wonder if the houses are any decent !!! 60k in some places can have you living high on the hog.

Around here. It don't matter if the house is 50 years old or brand new.

    Same price either way.

NOW, this is going to be a hate statement. Some will get upset over this comment.
Everyone likes to see appreciation on their property. But there is no way in the world I'm spending 400k for a house built in 1951 when I can buy a bigger house built in 2020 for the same price.

I don't want to be an hoa. But I'm seriously thinking a brand new townhome for 250k is going to be the way to go. VS. spending 250k for an old house that needs work. Besides. I'm getting up there in age. Hard to be a homeowner with all that maint. Don't leave me much time to live the rest of my days on my motorcycle.

When your choices are motorcycle or lawn mowing. I'll take motorcycle any day and twice on Sunday. :)

OK it may be that I am just seeing things that are not there but when I talk to drivers who have more than a few weeks of driving under their belt, their tone is a lot different.

And it is a single post poster.
