There should be instant no compromises parking tickets for occupying those spaces. Car running with you in it? Too bad you shouldn't be there. Here's a $300 ticket.

    Probably nothing.

We get ticketed for being in "their" spaces because we take up too much room, throw trash before leaving and are noisy when idling.
Of course we need the spots more than them, but its first come first served.

each truck stop or service plaza ought to have at least one of these, and if a trucker has the special endorsement...take care of biddness...

I used to haul coils not far from that rest area. Usually three 45k coils on a 45x96 tandem flat headed to Arkansas. One night my truck was running bad and I had a five gallon bucket of sweet tea I was going to pour in the tanks.

l pulled in there and saw a 1972 Buick Skylark in the lone trucking spot and I was unhappy to say the least. So I pulled in front of the Buick, unchained the back coil and made that R Model wheelie. It flattened the Buick and I was able to back over it and park. I then filled the tanks with sweet tea, and drove 19 hours straight to Texarkana, crossing Pennsylvania in three hours just to say I did it.

Here it was hauling 200k pounds worth of logs

Nobody will care because trucks are at best a necessary evil, while at worst being an intolerable one, and there are too many on the road anyway.
