Never said, or implied, that mega carriers are the only way to go for a company driver. But you have a less than stellar record with some of these companies. And this is after shaking hands, and getting the facts with the owner, etc. Just curious, are these companies found on Craigslist?
I work for a manufacturer. We build products, I deliver them. Not every driving job is delivering general freight.

I dont think its anything wrong with Craigslist as a job seeker. My last 3 jobs, including this one, came from Craigslist. I've had decent success. The OP has the less than stellar record, like you mentioned. I will also say that there is a lack of experience here. The OP hasn't really learned how to scout the good from the bad yet. His last two companies would have been easy to figure out for an experienced driver. If a driver chooses 1099, it's cool but you have to realize that these companies play by their own rules. In some ways, if the driver proves himself, he will have power within that company. In many more ways, the company has the ability to screw you over. OP needs to realize that when you go to work for these companies, you will most likely forfeit that last check if you quit. It ain't right, but what can you do besides move on?

I work for myself. I understand the redundancy of problems you run into with 1099 employers, and im sure he does too. All i am saying is the op wasnt asking for your opinion on 1099 employers. He was trying to help out the next man in line. If some of yall wouldnt say something in person, to someones face, maybe you shouldnt say it at all.

    Get over it dude.
This is the 3rd time the op has been screwed on
    1099 jobs.
And he's bound and determined to do it again.
    He's deserves everything he's getting.
He needs to read his own warnings.

He's not telling anybody on here, anything they
    Don't already know.

He wants to run outlaw and not pay any taxes.
    That's the bottom line.

Now he's pulling freight for free, and complaining
    About it.
He keeps rolling the dice and losing.
He's gonna have a whole lot more to complain
About 5 years from now, when he receives that
Back tax bill from the IRS.

Hotplate, Dennixx, FlaSwampRat and 2 others Thank this.

Again, I and many others have had the EXACT SAME ISSUES with Megas. So "he should jave known better tham to go with a 1099" makes no sense when going W2 doesn't protect you at all from what the problem is. Again, how many times have megas been sued for wages? The only advantage the small 1099s have is their ability to fly under the radar and rebrand on the fly so it's easier to scam.

I think it's odd how many drivers will jump on others for going with the 2-3 1099 outfits when many of those are owned by drivers. So let's say we all start driving for megas if we aren't O/O. Then what? All problems solved?? Okie dokie.

It's always the working mans fault in some folks eyes man, I swear.

Its irrelevant. The point Western Flyer is making is that OP ain't really helping anyone fussing about a lesser known 1099 company. It's a good chance they this company will fold faulty quickly. OP posted to talk about an irrelevant 1099 company, to complain, maybe to seek sympathy for getting ripped off. He should have questioned here first. Now he's trying to save face and justify his decision, trying to convince everyone that 1099 companies are better than megas. We all know what it is.

No clue where this came from. I see a big blob of assumptions and made of facts. You're automatically assuming I don't pay taxes because???? Pretty sure my pay with most of these 1099s have been DD into my Banking account at Wells Fargo. Pretty sure they report to the IRS. Just sayin.

I came here to speak on something I know about. This company. Thats what this part of the forums are for. You came here to speak on stuff you have no clue about. My financial situation and motive for driving with 1099s. Thanks for playing, try again bud. I get some folks are just kick down/kiss up types and will find a way to blame the working guy no matter what. Is what it is. I'm just reporting what happened man. Have a good day.

Plus....psssst....check my forums history. My job before last was Volume Transportation. W2. Whoops.

Its BS to every job man. You're definitely more likely to get scammed at a 1099 company. Its too much under the radar stuff going on.
