I wonder which is going to be a better choice for the new year. Dry van is pretty much typical and predictable.. flat bed however is a new world to me.. I understand that it involves more work & I Heard more money also.. so I’m asking you all !!

Dry van vs Flat bed for year 2020 ?

What are my chances of making decent money driving flat bed.. should I stick with dry van and the paths I’m use to.?

    No experience driving flat bed..
4 years experience driving dry van

Do what you do best and keep an eye on the other in case of a drastic market spike which I don’t see happening next year.

I'd give flatbed a try, see if you like it. At least with flatbed you dont have to back in a dock at midnight and deal with lumpers. Downside would be tarps and hoping the load of steel dont take your head off if you have to do a sudden brake check.

After you learn flatbed then you could move onto stepdeck and maybe make more money.

Not saying your wrong but he could also not figure out the lanes quick enough and get himself in a big financial hole quickly that’s hard to get out of.

I vote extendable flatbed. Sell you one cheap $7500 extends to 81ft. Best of both worlds.
