i’ve not found a definitive answer on this. Where can I get this inspection done? Anywhere that does State inspections or is it more specific?
TIA
Where can I get the annual DOT inspection?

Any shop that works on trucks or trailers. TA and the like, dealerships of course, and any local wrencher.

Walk into a large building filled with parts and shop trucks. Find snoring mechanic and nudge him awake, ask him for a annual DOT inspection.
Wait a while over a meal and a movie and it should be done. -

You can't use a mirror and 2 fingers, cough and call it a self inspection. Any truck shop shuld be able to do your inspection. But you might have to supply your own mirror.

Expect to pay around $75-125 depending on how bad they feeling like ripping you off that day.

I’m from Canada and it’s usually a 2.5 hour charge at $125/hour.
I just got my DOT inspection done at my local mechanic here in North Dakota and nearly shat myself when they told me it was only going to cost $45!!! -
Yeah I figured about as much, I actually found a shop in my town that does heavy diesel equipment and since I caught him while he was intoxicated (at a bar, not his workplace lol)he said he would do it for $50.

My current inspection cost me $35. I don't know that I'll go back there, though... he saw the general appearance of the truck and didn't look at anything, just wrote up a clean bill of health.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
