I live in Texas driving for a temp company, have a Texas license and I want to move to Colorado. I want to work for Old Dominion or Fedex Freight. Do I have to Live in Colorado and/or have a license there to apply and work for them? I can't just apply for the position drive up there for interview n such and move up there if say yes?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

You just need to transfer your license if you change your residence.
    What part of CO?

No. They will hire you with your current TX CDL but you will have to transfer it to CO within 30 days of moving there.

Denver is nice but you will need to become efficient with throwing chains in the winter. There's also a lot of work in the Grand Junction area if you are interested in that part of the state.
    Good luck.

I plan on becoming a city p&d driver Denver. I'm gonna go there next month to visit. Kinda wondering if they're gonna send me out in the mountains from time to time and how dangerous and can be in winter or with heavy loads. Seen some youtube vids with of ski trips and Saia trucks using the new cascadian freightliners.

If you get out of the Denver metro area you are going to hit mountains or at least steep grades. Even if you stay in the metro area the winter can be rough compared to a Texas winter. However, you wont miss the Texas summers of 110 degrees with high humidity.
