The fifth wheel puller on my truck is tucked way in. I believe I injured it while pulling on it. There is pain in my shoulder but nothing too severe. Shoulder joint feels a bit unstable when lifting the arm up. Tingling in the hands and arms. I am going to buy a puller and am sure company will reimburse. Anyone have experience with this. From reading online since the pain is not severe, it might be a strain or minor tear and will hopefully heal it self. If not I will be going home to see the doc and maybe filing for workers comp.

I get that injury all the time. Not from pulling fifth wheel though. I’m pretty tall and always had slouch forward shoulders. I have crappy range of motion in shoulders. Do you have similar issues or was your shoulders range of motion and posture good? Any little awkward pulling movement like that for me creates same problem as you and doesn’t go away for a couple days. I seem to be pinching a nerve that radiates through the front deltoid all the way to the rear deltoid Best thing to do is stay off that shoulder for a few days. Shifting should be fine And if prob still there, go to doctor if you want.

Slouch posture, yes. Tall, no. Am 5'8". My truck pulls to the right all the time at highway speeds and holding the steering wheel slightly to the left when it wants to center back also has been putting lots of stress on my shoulders. I just had an alignment done and hopefully it has fixed it. My right shoulder was solid, until I dropped off a loaded trailer and the pain and tingling started right after. My truck is an auto so no shifting.

I go to massage now once a month and have them get into my shoulders and move them around. Works incredible. If you have down time next few days. Stop in one of those places and tell them to concentrate on that shoulder for an hour. You will be good to go. Check online reviews and find a good place. Not a chain massage company like hand and stone. Those places are horrible

Yes, currently on layover. Will check around. Am in the south Chicago area currently. Am sure there is a decent one nearby. Thanks

Report the injury to your company at minimum. Take it from someone who has suffered a lifetime of shoulder problems.. Get to any Dr so that they can refer you for a MRI..

Were your injuries related to your driving work?

Trevor from Smashwerx is a visionary when it comes to dealing with shoulder injuries. He has lots of good therapy videos on his website.

If pulling the 5th wheel pin hurts your shoulder, have you tried a ‘happy unhooker’? They sell them at truck stops.

No. Got my first tear when I was 18 diving from a dock into the water. Just got over a frozen shoulder last year...took 3 years to unfreeze.
Currently dealing with another tear in my left shoulder..
See a Dr because a tear doesn’t heal itself..
my shoulders are beyond being able to fix because I didn’t take it seriously when I was younger.. So I suffer through it now and try not making any sudden movements with my arms.
