    Few questions ladies and gentlemen

Does anyone have pics of a d12 with a straight piped turbo back ? Without the exhaust brake/restrictor ?

I am wanting to remove it, I understand what it does, I understand it'spretty simple... Little bit of flex pipe and a few clamps but I just want to physically see it.

    - has anyone noticed any performance gains from removal ?

I know this will not restrict the turbo as much by removing it, that is ideally what I'm going for. On colder days it feels like my truck does not pull as hard so I'm thinking the exhaust valve is sticking closed a little. also in the morning I notice the truck will open an close that valve fairly hard

    - next question ... Has anyone swapped turbos on these trucks ? The stock HX52...there is a HX53.. any benefits ?

I just want the most out of my little engine, keep her running good and strong. If anyone has any comments feel free to shoot. I'm open to any criticism. I know it's not a CAT lol.

    Thanks for reading, happy hauling

I have an 05 670 d12. Have the exhaust brake in function and the short papi after it with the restrictor cut out and full straight pipe all the way back. I have it fully wrapped with exhaust header wrapping from amazon takes some time very much worth it as it keeps the what out in the summer. The air supply line to the shudder can rust in place and does not come off easy. The can on the shudder is aluminum and has 4 nut and bolts that hold it together if you remove the line then the nut and bolts you see the air piston backside it has 6 10mm nuts on it and a seal to hold air pressure around it the piston looks like a small cup it gets carbon buildup on it and needs to be polished back to super smooth to work right. I have tried using ultra high temp lube to prevent it from sticking but it cooks and jams the ability to release . find an old shudder and make a new pipe of it as it is a 3 inch ID I believe to a 5 inch pipe in the matter of about 1 1/2 feet
