I keep and HP printer onboard and the ink jets are always clogging up in the summer when it gets hot, and those darn cartridges are expensive.

Using a Cannon inkjet for years ($40).
Leave it on the truck all year round and never had a problem. Huh.

That's weird. Problem could be the wave shape produced by the inverter.
They don't use that much power.

I have the same printer and got it two years ago. It’s a slick little unit.. Used mine to print my logs every week.

I ran mine (same printer as OP) with a small 400 watt inverter plugged into a power port.. never had a problem or blown fuses.

You probably had a MSW (modified sine wave) inverter. PSW (Pure sine wave) is the way to go and they are much cheaper nowadays. I run a $100 Brother laser printer with a 2500 PSW inverter and it works fine. Uses a ton of power when starting up (heating the element or whatever) and that's what shuts most of them down, the momentary power zap. I've never even considered freezing being a problem for a laser printer. Mine's been humming along for a couple years.

This one but I didn't pay this much. Not sure what's up but looks like they're higher now than a couple years ago. I still think it's worth it but I realize that's a lot of cheddar.

Anyway, I've been putting inverters in campers and RV builds/rebuilds for years and this is the best one I've ever owned. If it dies I'll buy the same one tomorrow.

    Why?

Mine stays in the truck year around and I've had it for 4 years and never had a single problem other than replacing ink cartridges when they go empty
