Ok here's the deal. I have my own laptop and software but I do not have this tool I need because it is stupid expensive and I rarely access my parameters. Is there somewhere I can just rent this #### thing? Overpriced as hell and I'm not a mechanic therefore I don't need this tool but maybe once a year. Any suggestions? Maybe somebody can just let me park and use theirs?

The laptop and software is the expensive part. Bite the bullet on new one or shop for used.

Do you need a 2? The older USB link 1 should be had used for cheap and should still work fine on an older truck.

Yes I do need the 2. The 1 wont work. The problem is that I'm over the road right now and have no idea how to find one of these things for a decent price. That's why I would just like to rent one from somebody or use theirs I don't see paying $800 cash for something I'm hardly ever going to use.

Oh really is that right bud? Then please point me in the right direction to find one that doesn't cost a lot a lot because everywhere I've looked to buy one they want $800 plus dollars.

The cheapest one I have found was on Amazon for $635 but people were saying it was a Chinese knockoff. also I am over the road so I don't have a mailbox to order online anyways I have to buy the part physically from a truck parts store.

Unfortunately you must pay to play. Either pay the shop or buy the tool. I dont see another option.

You are correct on the chinese knockoff. Dont be fooled by the cheap price.

What application are you using that requires a 2?

Grab the bull by the horns, dont buy some used outdated crap. Buy new, stay cool. Like it or not. Nobody ever got anywhere by cutting corners or being cheap. Ouch !!!

Don't even know why I'm replying to this thread, must be the polite OP. I use Nexiq 1/2 , Dpa 5, DLA 2.0, Inline 6 on a daily basis. What program are you using that requires Nexiq 2 only? ESA is the only one that I am familiar with that only works with Nexiq 2.
