She’s standing in front of her truck. Some ####### starts to back up in the parking lot and manages to run her over with the tires. A witness told the driver he hit someone and ####### drives forward for some ####ing reason causing the lady to be run over a second time.

    It does seem odd.

She couldn’t have been standing ‘in front of her truck ‘ - for the story to fit.

How fast was the truck reversing?

    Tragic, but a bit odd.

And all associated news stories have the same version.

I had an idiot nearly hit me with his tandems as I was sitting in front of the fuel pumps at the Hat Six in Casper this week. I had just pulled up after fueling and pulled my brakes. Here comes some dumb cowboy turning left to line up for a straight back off to the right. Problem was that he wasn't looking anywhere but in front and behind, like he didn't even see me. I had to back up five feet real quick to avoid getting hit. I blasted him with the air horn and he just stared at me like I was the idiot.

Pay attention to your surroundings. It's that simple. If you're not sure what's behind you, stop and GET OUT AND LOOK. Every company I know of teaches that. Why some drivers don't do it is beyond me.

    I totally agree.

Im sorry she was killed. But nothing in that article makes sense logically. I know that truckstop in Emporia fairly well. I just cannot see it.

And twice? Evidently within line of sight of a driver? Everything is wrong with the article. Therefore I will not attempt any further thoughts. Maybe the Law will release a local investigation post accident in a few weeks or months.

For the driver that ran her over, its at minimum involuntary manslaughter with CMV So it's my thinking hes finished in this industry.

    Thats all.

Perhaps she was standing 20 feet in front of her truck with her back turned away from the offending trailer, when, at such time, the offending trailer began backing unbeknownst to her, and knocked her down.

Unable to get out the way, she then was ran over by the offending trailer's tandem tires killing her. Alerted by another onlooking driver, the driver of the murder wagon then proceeds to make a gruesome scene even more gruesome by pulling forward.

This is the only way I can see this horrific and tragic incident unfold as the article is written.

If this careless driver isn't charged with a crime, it is my hope that driver is fired and branded for his gross incompetence.

R.I.P. to this poor woman driver.

Every time you read about something tragic, it always seem like it happens at a PFJ. I remember at the White Pine, TN Pilot when a driver ran over a woman and dragged her half way around the parking lot before several drivers got out and stopped him
