I understand learning lanes but at the end of the day theyre over 3000 lanes if not more . learning them is impossible. Learning trends will get you further ahead. If you pull a reefer stay in reefer lanes. Pulling a reefer to Houston your not gonna get a fair rate on a backhaul even if the markets are good.

I’m bearing in mind maybe things have changed since 2017 when this was posted, And also bearing in mind that you look for better of course. Yet if you do that 7 days a week you only ran 2800 miles for over 6000 dollars. Not the best, but that kind of running pays the bills and then some. So I need to know what I’m missing with the “Don’t ever be taking” comment. I don’t quite understand, if rates are bad that would seem a fair way to run. Or at least, a mid week snack.

I also don’t get why OP was fixated on running to Fla all the time instead of a different approach, such as see above. But I’m only up to page 30, perhaps it gets cleared up.

Some load boards allow you to post your truck, like the DAT app if you have a paid subscription. List your location, equipment, and endorsements. Negotiating from a position of strength helps.

You can’t run 7 days per week though.

I could see doing 400 miles at $900 to get to an area that pays $1200 for the next 400 miles but that’s about it. Example being Indy to Green Bay and Green Bay back to Indy.

Keep reading, the OP was nice to take us through his journey as he learned himself along the way.

Why can't you? I believe that if you keep it under 8.75 hours a day, you can run indefinitely.

Why he'd want to is a different question.

I don’t say I’d WANT to (run 7 days like that). Too many docks. Just saying I see no reason not to take a 400 mile load that pays 900 dollars unless there is a better one. And a guy said NEVER EVER do it. Still hasn’t been explained,. But I will read on for answers to learn from. That’s what it’s all about.
