Celadon closing up shop!

Good advice as to how to park truck and load before abandoning ship, so to speak:"need to find a safe location to park the truck, like a truck stop or rest stop, take pictures of the truck, hide the keys, document the location and where the keys are, and send all that information to the company"

I worked for Celadon from about 2005 to 2007. During orientation, Steve Russell would come in and meet the new drivers. What is ironic is a piece of advise he gave all of us in that orientation class that I always remembered. Some company (I can not remember which) at that time had just went bankrupt and he got into discussing it and what he had observed in his years working with other companies, He told the whole group "If you ever see the stock price of a company fall to pennies on the dollar overnight, get out of there immediately. Do not work for 2 weeks and then not get paid for months because your money is tied up in bankruptcy proceedings". Kinda ironic now, what he described is what the company he founded is doing.

 

I’ve seen a lot of posts on social media about it. A lot of it is, mega carriers this and mega carriers that. I want to remind everyone that roughly 97% of all trucking capacity is provided by operations of 20 trucks or less. The mega carriers, in the grand scheme of things, are a drop in the bucket.
Also, no one know for sure what will happen with Celadon until Monday through Wednesday. Will that completely cease and liquidate, or will they restructure? Also, being it’s only about 1800 drivers, if they cease operations, really isn’t that much of an impact on the overall. Just injecting a little realism into the discussion.

 

Get your facts .....these were Former executives, not current ones and they were not profiting from this. They were hiding the loses to keep the doors open longer than they should have been.

No I haven't seem any of that because i didn't join this forum to recruit, I joined because fellow drivers that i worked with it mentioned there was a basic chat room type of thing here.

 

I have I mention the current company i work for yes, just as anyone else has. For example on the CFI thread I said something to affect of "hey peeps we're no longer at CFI currently over at Crete doing good, really enjoying it over here" I have no reason to lie and I don't appreciate basically being accused of doing something i didn't do. Did i post on this thread about coming to Crete yes i did, i honestly was just trying to help some people out, and as i said i didn't know we couldn't recruit or i never would have posted it, also since then i haven't posted anything on the lines of recruiting
