Yup. It’s been in the works a while.

All good, until a false positive turns up and ruins your career evermore.

Yet another system in place because of the 1% that F it up for everyone else.

That's true with me as well. I wasn't even aware of this until I stumbled across this thread. Amazing how *mandatory* changes slide under the radar.

snowwy, D.Tibbitt and blairandgretchen Thank this.

I don’t pay too much attention, but I knew about this one long ago.

Pick up Landline Now, or the Trucker Paper every now and again and keep in touch when you have time.

If you take issue with anything, you at least have a chance to write your local representative, or sign up to OOIDA as a default.

Registration is required to be able to access the clearinghouse once it is fully implemented on January 6, 2020. To access the clearinghouse, authorized users must register. These users include:

Drivers who hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL) or commercial learner’s permit (CLP).
Employers of CDL drivers. This includes those who employ themselves as CDL drivers (owner-operators), typically a single-driver operation.
    Consortia/Third-Party Administrators (C/TPAs).
    Medical Review Officers (MROs).
    Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs).

I knew and registered. Only because I still had Tenstreet on my phone from my (relatively) recent job hunt and they shoved it in my face via push notification, though

Look at all the threads of "i tested positive do i have to tell anyone?" And some wonder why this happened? Been talked about implementing for the last two years.

In the case of drivers they do not necessarily have to register. For instance if a company wants pull a limited query on a driver they can get written consent from that driver. If the company has to do a full query the consent has to be given on the clearinghouse website by the driver so he has to register. If no full query is ever needed then the driver doesn’t have to register.

This clearing house thing has been getting mentioned in truck mags like Landline and Overdrive (both of which can be sent to your home for free), freebie truck papers and such for a while now. All through the regulatory process. Amazing how few drivers try to stay up on what is happening in the industry that provides their livelihood. Was the same thing with the ELDs. Drivers were surprised and outraged the the feds were able to sneak them in like they did.
